The importance of light in sports facilities

Sports lighting that passes ball tests

When there is a requirement for the luminaire to be extra durable against ball impacts, it is tested according to VDE 0710-13, a so-called ball test. In order to pass the standard test the luminaire must withstand 36 shots from three different directions at 60 km/h with a calibrated handball with a diameter of 187 mm without any parts coming loose or that the IP classification is affected.

Our Indline Sport Grid IP23 with its different light alternatives is optimised to meet the requirements in a sports facility. Indline Sport Grid IP23 also has several different lens options that give a broad, medium or narrow beam, or an asymmetrical light. The asymmetrical light is ideal for padel courts, for example. Our sports luminaires also have a long life time, which implies a minimal amount of maintenance over time. Quite simply - a perfect sports luminaire.

To help you in your next project with sports lighting we have produced a number of calculations example
