IP RATINGS
An IP (Ingress Protection) rating indicates how well protected a product is, how well it withstands dust, intrusion (hands and fingers), steam, water and so on. It’s important to consider the IP rating when choosing products being installed in more demanding environments, such as bathrooms, entrances and patios.
The IP rating is designated by the letters IP followed by two digits. The first digit indicates the product’s level of protection against dust, intrusion and the ingress of solid objects. The second digit indicates how well the product is protected against the ingress of water and steam. Our products always specify the IP rating they have been assigned.
